We are excited to start work as Oak National Academy's curriculum partner for physical education. As such, we will be co-creating a well-sequenced curriculum that is fit for purpose and meets the demands of the National Curriculum with the help of Oak's Expert Panel and our partners, Complete PE and Youth Sport Trust. The next step will be to create, test and refine 888 PE lessons ranging from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4 (including GCSE PE) between now and July 2025. We would love to create more content to give schools a choice of units to meet the needs of their context and if there is demand then this is a potential for the future, but right now we plan to start with the most in demand materials.
Our ambition is for these lessons to be inclusive, exciting, and easy to follow to enable ITE or ECT or cover or supply colleagues to simply pick up and use whilst more experienced teachers will find them flexible and easy to adapt to suit the specific needs and motivations of their classes. The overall scheme will also do a lot of the heavy lifting for Leaders of PE to adopt, edit and refine to suit their context.
We are thrilled that the curriculum framework, units of work, lesson plans and teaching resources will be FREE to access for any teacher or school to help improve the quality of PE for all. Importantly, we see this as an opportunity to reduce the workload burden on teachers to release time for interactions with students or simple fine tuning to suit individual groups.
We know we have a strong team and network of physical educators and we want to give you the chance to be part of the action.
We will be putting together a team to create, test, review and refine the content to make sure it fits the brief and is effective in practice. We are committed to reflect the diverse communities that we represent.
